Summer dress

Spring is coming! The cutest dress, made by my mum. Our Sunday fun with Enja (who I had to bribe to be my model for 5 minutes :) ).

One of my favourite images that I have in my stock collection is this :). This time it was published in ilona & puutarha (Iltalehti). Hmm I think I miss summer...please come soon. It's still been snowing in Helsinki can you believe...

Jyri my husband is still in the Sahara desert running the Marathon des Sables. They had the longest leg yesterday (about 81km) and in those conditions it took Jyri about 17 hours to complete (if I calculated correctly :) ). I woke up at about 3.30am to watch him come to the finish line - there's a webcam on so it's pretty cool to see them come - and this time time appear from complete darkness with their headlights on. He looked ok and happy so good! I think today he can rest (since some competitors are only arriving today...) and then the final day is only 15km to finish off the whole thing.

Spring sessions - families and children

Spring is coming (at least it should be, doesn't really look like it when I look outside though...). I've been working with my portfolio, new site and everything else all winter and now it feels like I've almost done the hard work :). Currently I have been doing also commercial shoots but I love to do child and family sessions and always want to offer them to my clients. My new price list is coming out in the beginning of June so during April and May you can still book all the child and family sessions with my current prices!

Turning one :)

One-year-olds are so cute :). When I arrived he was already peaking through the window with a smile on his face :).

It's getting lighter and with the amount of snow we have now it nicely reflects some light indoors as well. I took out my 50mm f1.4 and shot wide open, with a little help of a flash. I think I've said this before but with children I just love the little bit of a dreamy look it gives.

Back in Finland :)

Back in Finland :). The wintery white -8 degree Helsinki :). But I still have these sunny photos to share from Portugal. I will miss that beautiful light and nice people! This is my Enja again, enjoying the sun and running through the pear trees in Amoreira.

Enja in Amoreira

These are from Amoreira, from the beautiful little village north of Lisbon where we have stayed for the past 6 weeks. And going home tomorrow... we just had the last visit to the beach with beautiful sunset. I'm going to miss that. Of course it's always nice to go home as well but I've really enjoyed my stay here and maybe we will be back later :).

This is my Enja. I paid her in lollies so she was very willing to model for me :).

Amoreira winter sun

Even if it's cold in the evenings I love the sun. Past couple of days have been really warm, sun warming our cheeks. Winter light comes low and hits beautifully the pear trees and the grass. I haven't photographed enough and soon it's going to make me crazy :). After no light in Finland this is beautiful.

Indoor season I Valokuvaaja Helsinki

Soon I'm out of the office (walking in the rain back home) but still wanted to share these! I promised you more of these boys and here they are :). It's that season again -- the indoor season is starting in Finland :). I love to photograph outdoors, so that's my first choice. But (like everyone knows) the weather can get pretty bad here. And then we photograph inside :).

For Monday I'm hoping beautiful weather though, since we are photographing beautiful 'children in the forest' photos :). So fingers crossed.
