Extreme Dudesons! I Helsinki valokuvaaja
The coolest thing this spring (and I think I might have mentioned this a few times to a few people :) ) - The Extreme Dudesons!! Jarppi and Jukka. These were done for the Saari-magazine.
We actually got to visit them at their office (hey, my husband was just a little bit jealous and offered multiple times to come and help me with my gear...) and interview Jarppi and then I went back a few hours later to get 'school portraits' of both of them. I strictly followed my sister's instructions and did what she asked me to do (she did the magazine).
It was so funny to got to photograph them since it was our fun when living in Australia - watch the Dudesons do their crazy stuff in beautiful finnish countryside. I have to admit we also watch Jackass and Nitro Circus (guess who is controlling the remote).

Risto Mattila. From the Beverly Hills of snowboarders in Finland I Helsinki valokuvaaja
Risto Mattila - I was waiting for this rough snowboarder but instead I met the nicest guy :).
We were waiting for him in Talma where he was to meet 2 competition winners (win a day in Talma with Risto Mattila). Before the winners arrived we had plenty of time to take the photos and then sit at the cafe talking about snowboarding, Lauttasaari, and all kinds of other important stuff :).
Was really nice to meet you, Risto!

J. Loikkanen. Urho Kekkonen's sauna friend. I Helsinki valokuvaaja
Amazing to meet a person, Jouko Loikkanen, who was one of the 'big guys' of finnish history and who joined Urho Kekkonen, one of Finland's previous presidents, for sauna every Saturday night. No women, no liquer, just talking politics or whatever guys talk when in sauna. The priviledge of washing Urho Kekkonen's back was something no ordinary guy got to do.
So too lucky to meet him :).

Oil disaster in Lauttasaari I Helsinki valokuvaaja
Think of the scenario that there is an oil leak. How fast would it hit Lauttasaari. What will happen in the next 2 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours... How is the oil removed? Who is doing the cleaning? Can you just pick up birds and start cleaning them in your bathroom?
Interesting. I never knew how big the operation actually is until I was listening to the WWF representative and local fire brigade talking about it.
And on this sunny afternoon an 'oil disaster' hit Lauttasaari.
